We believe it is important that all of our employees know where we want to go with our company. Therefore we changed the formula of the annual staff party. The very first Van de Velde ‘Employee Day’ consisted of two parts. In the morning we informed everybody about the company's future plans. Colleagues of different departments presented today and tomorow's projects. In the afternoon it was time for some true ‘#vandeveldefun’. Everybody could participate in several active and fun workshops.

‘Onderneming van het Jaar’ (Entrepreneur of the Year) is the most prestigious business award in the country. It is an honour which is only granted to the best Belgian companies, who manage to distinguish themselves from all the others in terms of entrepreneurship, innovation, strategy, perseverance, internationalization and sensible management. An independent jury selected the finalists based on these qualitative criteria.
Van de Velde was nominated for this award together with 4 other Flemish companies. We are therefore incredibly proud to have been nominated and consider it an homage not only to our company, but to all our employees, past and present.
The award’s 20th anniversary was held at Heizel in Brussels on October 14 2014 and the award was handed to Katoen Natie in presence of H.M. King Philip.
Moreover, in order to emphasize the award’s special jubilee, a formal opening of a Hall of Fame took place, which celebrates all the previous winners.

Luxury lingerie and swimwear label Andres Sarda, where the founder’s daughter Nuria Sarda is now Creative Director, has been named 2014 Designer of the Year at the Salon International de la Lingerie in Paris. The first Spanish company to receive this prestigious prize back in 2005, Andres Sarda regained its crown this year because the “glamour and originality of the collections are a shining star in the lingerie market”.
This prize is recognition for the innovation, finesse and constant introduction of new materials that are key qualities of the Andres Sarda style, as are creative risk-taking and the talent to surprise, combined with a manufacturing tradition and a deeply rooted understanding of the profession.
Since 1962 Andres Sarda has designed sophisticated collections for the most demanding women who want exclusivity, quality and comfort. The glamour of its designs and the originality of its work are inspired by the most cosmopolitan and sensual of women.
The business has an impressive global reputation, which explains why it has been awarded one of the most important prizes in the world of lingerie, which will be presented at the Capitale de la Création between 25 and 27 January 2014.
For the second time Andres Sarda has unquestionably set the benchmark in lingerie and swimwear, with designs based on excellence and sensuality.
